How to put items on sale on Shopify: one product, a collection or the whole store
How to put items on sale on Shopify with compare-at prices: one product, one variant, a collection or the whole store, and how to end the sale cleanly.
Choose "Schedule start and end", set when the sale starts and when it ends (or how long it lasts), and Sale Scheduler does the rest: it applies the reviewed prices at the start and restores the previous prices at the end. Scheduled times are processed every minute.
| Option | When prices change | When prices come back | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Start after I review | Right after you confirm | When you click "Restore prices" | Clearance, permanent price changes |
| Schedule start and end | At the start time you set | Automatically at the end time | Flash sales, weekends, Black Friday, Ramadan |
Pick an end date and time, or set a duration in days plus hours (in half-hour steps). The start must be in the future and the end after the start. One-time sales have no maximum length, so a month-long campaign works the same way as a two-hour flash sale.
A background worker checks every 60 seconds, so a sale starts or ends within about a minute of the time you set. Large sales take longer to finish because variants are updated in sequence, so schedule big storewide sales a little before you announce them.
Times for one-time sales are entered in your browser's local time. If your customers are in another time zone, convert the time before you schedule.

It starts within about a minute of the time you set, because scheduled times are processed every minute. Large sales take longer to finish applying.
Not after scheduling. Delete it before it starts (no prices change) and create a new one with the right settings.
Yes. Each plan limits how many scheduled sales run at the same time, from 2 on the free allowance to 2,000 on Agency. Sales started right after review don't count toward that limit.
